Store Policies
These policies are designed to answer common questions and ensure a smooth experience for every customer. If you don't see the answer you're looking for, please don't hesitate to contact us—we're always happy to help.
At Dan the Frame Man, every order is custom made with care. Whether you're ordering a custom print, archival matboard, or handcrafted frame, we want you to know exactly what to expect before placing your order.
Our goal is simple: provide outstanding craftsmanship, honest communication, and products you'll be proud to display for years to come.
Order Review
Every order is personally reviewed before production.
We carefully check image quality, sizing, proportions, measurements, and other details that could affect the finished product. If we notice anything that may impact your order, we'll contact you before production begins.
Image Ownership & Copyright
By placing an order, you confirm that you own the image or have permission from the copyright holder to reproduce it.
We reserve the right to refuse any order that appears to violate copyright, trademark, licensing, or other intellectual property rights.
Acceptable Content
We reserve the right to decline any order containing material that is:
- Pornographic or sexually explicit
- Obscene or offensive
- Hateful, discriminatory, or intended to promote violence
- Illegal or unlawful
- Infringing on another person's intellectual property rights
If you have questions about whether your project is appropriate, we're happy to help before you place your order.
Image Files & Quality
The quality of your finished print depends largely on the quality of the image provided.
Whenever possible, we'll notify you if we believe an image may not produce the best possible results. We may recommend a different print size, suggest image enhancements, or discuss other options before production begins.
While we do our best to identify potential issues, customers are ultimately responsible for providing image files they have the legal right to reproduce.
Image Enhancements
To help your image look its best, we may make basic adjustments such as cropping, resizing, brightness, contrast, or minor color corrections when appropriate.
If your project requires more extensive editing, restoration, or graphic design work, we'll contact you with options before performing any additional work.
Our goal is always to produce the highest-quality finished product while preserving the original look and feel of your image.
Cropping & Sizing
Different print sizes have different proportions.
To fit the size you've selected, your image may require cropping, borders, or another adjustment. If a significant change is needed, we'll contact you before production.
Whenever possible, we'll work with you to achieve the best result.
Proofs & Approvals
Not every order requires a proof. However, if we have questions about your image, layout, sizing, measurements, or another aspect of your order, we may send you a proof or contact you for approval before production begins.
Production will not begin until we receive your approval. Delays in responding may extend your estimated processing and shipping times, and could result in the cancellation of your order.
Color Accuracy & Color Matching
Colors displayed on computer monitors, phones, and tablets may appear different from the final printed product.
Differences in screen calibration, display settings, lighting conditions, and printing processes can result in slight color variations. While we strive to produce accurate and vibrant prints, we cannot guarantee an exact color match to your screen, previously printed photographs, or prints produced by other companies.
Custom Mats & Framing
Please carefully review all measurements before placing your order.
For custom matboards and framing projects, each item is made specifically for your order using the dimensions provided. If measurements appear unusual or inconsistent, we may contact you to verify them before production.
If you're unsure how to measure your artwork, we're happy to help before you place your order.
Production Time
All products are made to order.
Processing times shown on our website are estimates and may vary depending on order volume, product complexity, holidays, or the need to contact you regarding your order.
We'll always do our best to complete your order as quickly as possible without compromising quality.
Shipping
Every order is carefully packaged to help ensure it arrives safely.
Once your package has been shipped, delivery times are the responsibility of the shipping carrier. While we cannot guarantee transit times, we'll gladly assist if a shipping issue arises.
Shipping Damage
If your order arrives damaged, please contact us as soon as possible.
To help us resolve the issue quickly, please include photos of:
- The damaged item
- The packaging
- The shipping label
We'll work with you to find the best possible solution.
Returns & Cancellations
Because every item is custom made specifically for you, custom orders cannot be returned or exchanged.
Orders may be canceled before production begins. Once production has started, cancellations may no longer be possible.
If we've made an error or your order arrives damaged, please contact us right away. We'll do everything we reasonably can to work with you to make it right.
Privacy
Your photos and artwork belong to you.
Your files are used only to complete your order and are never sold, shared, or reproduced for any other purpose without your permission, except as required by law.
We understand that many of the images we print are personal and meaningful, and we treat every file with the same care and respect we'd want for our own memories.
